General John Gowans, former world leader of The Salvation Army and a regular worshipper at Chatham Citadel Corps, has become the Chairman of the Steering Group of the soon to be launched Emmaus Medway Community Project.

This project will be formally launched at Rochester Cathedral on 18 February in the presence of Terry Waite, Emmaus UK President and former Assistant to the Archbishop of Canterbury for Anglican Communion Affairs.
