After a very busy week Santa’s helpers have succeeded in sorting, packaging and distributing the bulk of the Christmas parcels of food, clothes and toys to many of the needy people in the Medway Towns.
This task, which begins in earnest following the receipt of gifts and toys from the public at the Carol Concerts held in the Central Theatre (see Monday Spot – 3 December) was again organised by Marjory Hudson who, with a team of about 20 helpers, including drivers, distributed the bulk of the parcels by the end of the week.
Approximately 140 parcels were sent out to people, especially families, whose names had been given to us by various agencies throughout Medway and the effort went very smoothly. Our Sunday School hall, the use of which is disrupted by this activity every year, was back in full use well before the week-end.
Our thanks go to all concerned. Here are a few more pictures.
