Shoebox Appeal

Once again the members of the Ladies Fellowship have dedicated an evening to preparing shoeboxes for the Blythswood Care appeal.

Lots of wrapping paper, cups of tea and chat were the order of the day whilst covering and filling the boxes. 26 boxes filled with goodies mainly for women were delivered to the Blythswood warehouse on the Medway City Estate the following day. We understand that the collection is going well again this year despite th harder economic times everyone is experiencing.

Pat Phillips, a former leader of the Ladies Fellowship, based her epilogue on the ‘fruits of the spirit’ dwelling especially on generosity and love which motivate the ladies desire to help those less fortunate than themselves by participating in this appeal.

Next month those who have already booked will be enjoying the annual Christmas dinner at the Grangemoor Hotel in Maidstone. In January the venue for the meeting will be different, probably Thorndyke House in Palmerston Road, Chatham, but this is not yet confirmed so ‘watch this space’.
