We are unable to bring you the usual Monday Spot because all activities due to take place yesterday were cancelled due to the snow.
However, please read on.
We are now able to bring news regarding the commissioning of the cadets of the ‘Proclaimers of the Ressurrection’ session at William Booth College which will take place at Westminster Central Hall on 13 July. We anticipate that many corps members will want to support our own Mark Scoulding by attending the event. The ‘home’ corps of each cadet can order tickets on a priority basis and we have received the application form for this. Tickets cost £8 per person for each session (2pm and 6pm). Please place your order with CSM (R) Murray Smith together with cash or cheque (made payable to The Salvation Army) as soon as possible. The bulk order will be sent to William Booth College on 1 March. We hope that tickets allocated will be in one block but WBC say that this cannot be guaranteed. However, by submitting our order ahead of the mid-March deadline we hope to be successful.
A 53 seater coach has been booked for the occasion and will be available, in the first instance, for those obtaining tickets by the bulk order. If there are any seats still available once these have been taken up they will be offered to any who have ordered tickets separately.
Assuming a full take-up of seats the cost will be £10 per person.
Two years ago we made similar arrangements for the commissioning of Mark’s parents, Steve and Mel, and we had a great day. We are sure the same will be our experience this time.
Returning to the weather situation we can confirm that the Monday Lunch, Cafe, the Foodbank, ‘mainly music’ and the costa Book Club, all due to beheld today (Monday) have been cancelled.
